In a set A ={1,2,3,4,5} a relation R is defined by R ={(x,y):x,y belongs to A and x<y} . Examine whether R is reflexive, symmetric or transitive.

Clearly R isn't reflexive or symmetric as it does not satisfy the conditions for them. But R is transitive as (1,2),(2,3)<=>(1,3) is satisfied.
