Torsional stress coefficient is the ratio of the absolute maximum stress to the stress taken out by using the common formulae of mechanics ( torsion formula, flexure formula), one should use the net section and ignore the new distribution of stress section.

The above is basically the factor of torsional stress concentration.

Answer:As the hole to shaft diameter INCREASE, then the torsional stress concentration factor DECREASES.

Explanation:

As the stress concentration factor is the ratio of permissible stress to the nominal stress. Here nominal stress increases as the residue area decreases.

$=P/(3.14(D^2-d^2));

Area decreases on increases hole -shaft diameter ratio increases. Therefore nominal stress increase, hence stress concentration factor decreases
