Answer:

62.5%

Step-by-step explanation:

let sufficient food for all sailors for 1 day = x

total food = food for sailors for 80 days = 80 x

After 30 days , food consumed = 30 × food for all sailors for 1 day = 30x

Remaining food =  total food - food consumed = 80x - 30x = 50x

Food % still remaining = (Remaining food × 100)/ total food

                                     = (50x  × 100) /80x = 62.5%

Hence 62.5% food should still remain.

Answer:

Total days the food remains=80

The percentage of food still remains after 30 days=30/80 ×100

=300/8

=37.5 food finished

Total % of food- food finished

= 100%-37.5%

=62.5% food remains (ANS)
