Answer:

The cost of an apple is 24 rupees.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,cost of 1 pomegranate is Rs.16.

Now it is also given that 4 banana cost as much as 12 pomegranate.

Now cost of 1 pomegranate is 16 rupees

then by Unitary method,

cost of 12 pomegranate is (16 \times 12) = 192 \: rupees

Therefore cost of 12 pomegranate = Cost of 4 banana = 192 rupees.

Now again given,5 mangoes cost as much as 4 banana.

So we can say,

Cost of 4 banana = Cost of 5 mangoes = 192 rupees

It is also given that 8 apples cost as much as 5 mangoes.

So,

Cost of 8 apples = Cost of 5 mangoes = 192 rupees.

Now cost of 8 apples is 192 rupees

By Unitary method,

cost of 1 apple is \frac{192}{8} = 24 \: rupees

Here we applied Unitary method.
