In a shop there was a discount of 10% on purchase of 1 shirt, discount of 20% on purchase of 2 shirts, discount of 30% on purchase of 3 shirts and on purchase of 4 or more shirts there was discount of 40%. Kiran purchased 2 shirts and Sameer purchased 5 shirts. The cost of all shirts is the same and Kiran spent Rs 560. How much money did Sameer save in the purchase?

Answer:

1008 is the correct answer

Step-by-step explanation:

560×20÷100=112

112 is discount on two shirts

the actual price of 2 shirts is 560+112=672

so, 1 shirt cost is 672÷2=336

now five shirts actual cost is 336×5=1680

the price by the given discount will be 1680×40÷100=672is discount 1680-672=1008if it is OK rate ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Answer:

As Kiran purchased 2 shirts, he got 20% discount.

So, Rs 560 is 80% of the marked price of 2 shirts.

Marked price of 2 shirts = Rs.10080

× 560 = Rs.700

So, the marked price of each shirt = Rs.7002

= Rs.350 ...(as cost of all the shirts is the same)

Sameer bought 5 shirts with a 40% discount.

Marked price for 5 shirts = Rs.(5 × 350) = Rs.1750

Total discount = 1750100

× 40

= Rs.(17.5 × 40) = Rs.700

Hence Sameer saved Rs 700 in the purchase.
