Correct Question:-

in a shop there was a discount of 20% on marked price of all items. how much the customer has to pay for a shirt which is marked at ₹1450 and 2 jeans marked at ₹ 850 each.

Answer:-

Given:

▪︎Marked price of shirt = ₹1450

▪︎Marked price of jeans = ₹850

▪︎Discount % on market price = 20 %

To Find:

Money paid by customer for a shirt and 2 jeans.

Solution:

▪︎Fɪʀsᴛ Mᴇᴛʜᴏᴅ-

Money paid by customer for a shirt

= M.P. - Discount %

= 1450 - 20% of 1450

= 1450 - 290

= ₹1160

Money paid by customer for 1 jeans

= M.P. - Discount %

= 850 - 20 % of 850

= 850 - 170

= ₹680

Money paid by customer for a shirt and 2 jeans

= 1160 + (2×680)

= ₹2520

▪︎Sᴇᴄᴏɴᴅ Mᴇᴛʜᴏᴅ-

Total marked price

= M.P. of shirt + (2 × M.P. of shirt)

= 1450 + ( 2 × 850 )

= 1450 + 1700

= 3150

Money paid by customer

= M.P. - Discount %

= 3150 - 20% of 3150

= 3150 - 630

= ₹2520
