Given:

velocity ratio = 20

effort = 25kg

load = 400 kg

To Find:

efficiency =?

Solution:

we know that

mechanical advantage (M.A.) = load / effort = 400/25 = 16

now velocity ratio (V.R) = 20

we also know that the expression to calculate the efficiency of simple machine

efficiency = \dfrac{M.A. \times 100}{V.R}

                = \dfrac{16 \times100}{20}

               = 80%

thus, the efficiency of a simple machine 80%
