Given:

The length of the simple pendulum, l = 90.6 × 10⁻² m

The time period of the simple pendulum = 1.91 s

To Find:

The value of acceleration due to gravity.

Calculation:

- The time period of a simple pendulum is given as:

T = 2π√(l/g)

⇒ g = 4π²l/ T²

⇒ g = 4 × (3.14)² × 90.6 × 10⁻²/(1.91)²

⇒ g = 4 × 9.86 × 90.6 × 10⁻²/3.648

⇒ g = 35.733/3.648

g = 9.795 m/s²

- But we have to round it off.

g = 9.80 m/s²

- So, the value of acceleration due to gravity to correct significant figures is 9.80 m/s².
