Coefficient of performance = Desired effect ( Heat absorbed in to the evaporator) / Work input to the compressor

Work input to the compressor = 28 kJ/kg

Heat absorbed by refrigerant in the evaporator = 140 - 28 = 112 kJ/kg

Now, COP = 112 / 28

                  = 4
