a) 1/4 ,b) 1/4, c) 1/4, d) 18

Step-by-step explanation:

  1. b) exactly there are 9 favourable outcomes. this way we can find the probability of getting an even number of each dice =9/36 which is equal to 1/4.
  2. c) getting off an even number on each dice is 9/36 which is =1/4. out of 36 possible outcomes, only (1,4), (2,3), (3,2), and (4,1) add up to give 5. hence there are exactly four favourable outcomes
  3. d) hence there are exactly 18 favourable outcome. the probability of getting and event is defined.
