a)insulating material is a bad conductor of heat. hence heat does not escape.

b)to absorb heat energy of the sun as black colour is a good absorber.

c)sheet does not allow the traped heat to escape.(green house effect)

(a) The box is made of an insulating material such as plastic or wood so that the heat absorbed by the cooker does not radiate out.

(b) The inner walls of the box are painted black because a black surface absorbs the maximum amount of heat from sunlight. It maximises absorption of heat and minimises heat loss due to reflection.

(c) The box is covered with a transparent glass sheet because a glass sheet traps more and more heat rays of the sun and does not allow the heat to go back due to greenhouse effect.
