In cubic unit cell, there are eight corner and six faces and each corner atom share with eight cubes and each face centre atom share with two cubes

Since Solid atm M is present at face centre. So,

Number of solid atom M present in a crystal = 1/2 × 6

= 3

Since Solid atm N is present at corner and one atom is removed from a corner. So,

Number of solid atom N present in a crystal = 1/8 × 7

= 7/8

Formula of crystal is M3 N7/8 i.e M24N7 ( generally in molecular formula, the number of atom is represented in nearest integer not in fraction.
