Number of moles of NaOH = m/M = 40/40 = 1mol.

Volume = 500ml = 0.5L.

Molarity = number of moles of NaOH/ Volume in litres =

= 1/0.5 = 2M.

Since acidicity of NaOH is 1, molarity= normality= 2N.
