Hi,

Here is your answer

Given:

Mass of benzene(C₆H₆)=7.8g

Mass of toluene(C₆H₅CH₃)=46.0g

To Find:

Mole fraction of benzene in the solution

Solution:

Number of moles of benzene=Given mass/Molar mass

Molar mass of benzene=12×6+6=78

Hence

Number of moles of bezene=7.8/78=0.1mol

Molar mass of toluene=12×6+5+12+3=92

Number of moles of toluene=46/92=0.5mol

Mole fraction of benzene=Number of moles of benzene/Number of moles of solution

Mole fraction of benzene=0.1/0.1+0.5=0.16

Note:

Mole fraction of any substance=Number of moles of substance/Number of moles of the solution

Hope tis helps you.
