in a square ABCD AB =x+4,CD=5x+8

AB=x+4
CD=5x+8

AB=CD (opposite side of square)
x+4=5x-8
5x-x=4+8
4x=12
x=3

In square all side are equal so
= AB = CD
= x+4 = 5x+8
= x = 5x +8-4
= x = 5x+4
= x-5x = 4
= -4x=4
= x = 4/-4
= x = -1 unit
