in a square abcd e is the mid point of cb af is drawn perpendicular to de. if the side of the square is 29 cm. find the length of fb in cm.

HELLO DEAR,

let <CDE = x , <ADF = 90 - x [as,<D = 90°]

hence in triangle AFD,
<ADF = 90 - x° , <AFD = 90
so, <FAD = x°
as we know <FAH = 90 - <FAD
<FAH = 90 - x
then,<AFH = x°

AND,

E IS median of BC ,
then BE = CE = BC/2

IN ∆ DEC,

tanx = BE/29

tanx = (29/2)/29

tanx = 1/2---------( 1 )

IN ∆ AFH ,

tanx = AH/HF = 1/2------from( 1 )

now, From the trigonometry rule,
so, AH = 1 , HF = 2

BH = (29 - 1) = 28 , HF = 2

BF² = BH² + HF²

BF² = 28² + 2²

BF² = 784 + 4

BF² = 788

BF = 28.07cm
