Answer:   Given, AC = 16 cm

Let sides of square be 'a'

∴ By using Pythagoras Theorem,

AD² + DC² = AC²

a² + a² = 16²

2a² = 256

a² = 128

a = √128

= 11.31 cm

Answer:

let the side of the square is x cm

then, diagonal =√(side^2+side^2)

=> 16=√(x^2+x^2)

=> 16^2=2x^2

=> 256=2x^2

=> x^2=256/2=128

=> x=√128=√(8×8×2)

=> x= 8√2

side of the square is 8√2 cm
