Formula to be used:

Supermarket:

M.P. of the lamp = Rs. 870

Discount = $\frac{1}{5}$ of M.P.

∴ S.P. of the lamp = $870 - \frac{1}{5} \times 870 = 870 - 174 = Rs.\: 696$

Electric shop:

M.P. of the lamp = Rs. 920

Discount = $\frac{1}{10}$ of M.P.

∴ S.P. of the lamp = $920 - \frac{1}{10} \times 920 = 870 - 92 = Rs.\: 828$

Therefore, we can conclude:

- The S.P. of the lamp in the supermarket is lesser than in the electric shop

(ii). Finding the difference in the prices:

The difference in the prices of the lamp in the supermarket and in the electric shop is,
