In a survey 60% of those surveyed owned a car and 80% of those surveyed owned a tv if 55 owned both a car and a tv what percentage of those surveyed ownef a car or a tv but not both

total owned persons = owned car + owned tv - owned both

total owned persons = 60 + 80 - 55

= 140 - 55

= 85 % people owned either car or tv or both

so 15 % people are not owned anything



60 % people owned car , but out of that , 55 are also in tv

so purely people owned car = 60 - 55 = 5 %


80 % people owned tv , but out of that , 55 are also in car

so purely people owned tv = 80 - 55 = 25 %


so people owning either one are = 5 + 25

= 30 %
