We know that the pillars will be cylindrical in shape and in order to paint them, we must find the C.S.A of the cylinder.
Given that D= 18 cm. So Radius= D/2= 18/2= 9cm. Converting cm into m, we get 9/100 = 0.09 m
H= 4.9 m
C.S.A= 2 * pi * r * h
= 2 * 22/7 * 0.09 * 4.9
= 2.772
Cost of painting one pillar= 2.772 * 20= Rs. 55.44
Since there are 15 such pillars. Total area to be painted= 15 * 2.772 = 41.58 m²
Total cost = 20* 41. 58= Rs. 831.6
