Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

In a test +3 marks are given for every correct answer and -1 mark is given for every incorrect answer. Sonali attempted all the questions and scored +20 marks, though she got 10 correct answers.

To find :-

i) How many questions were given in the test ?

Solution :-

Given that

Marks are given for every correct answer = (+3)

Marks are given for every incorrect answer = (-1)

Number of correct answers are given by Sonali

= 10

Total marks for 10 correct answers

=> 10×(+3)

=> (+30) marks

Let the number of incorrect answers given by Sonali be X

Marks for X incorrect answers

= X×(-1)

= (-X) marks

Total score of Sonali

= Marks for Correct answers + Marks for Incorrect answers

= (+30)+(-X)

=> ( +30-X ) marks

According to the given problem

The score of Sonali = +20 marks

=> (+30-X) = +20

=> -X = +20-30

=> -X = -10

=> X = 10

Number of incorrect answers are given by Sonali = 10

If she attempted all questions

The total questions

= Correct Questions + Incorrect Questions

= 10+10

= 20

Total questions = 20

Answer:-

Total number of all questions in the test is 20
