Answer:

Dayana:

The total marks obtained will be

X(+5) + Y(-2),

where X is number of correct answers and Y is number of wrong answers

Dayana got 10 correct answers and scored 30 marks. Let the incorrect answers be n

So here,

  • 10(+5) + n(-2) = 30
  • 50 - 2n = 30
  • n = 10

So Dayana attempted 10 incorrect answers.

Deric:

He attempted 4 correct answers and got -12 marks. Let incorrect answers be n

  • 4(+5) + n(-2) = -12
  • 20 - 2n = -12
  • n= 16

So Deric attempted 16 incorrect answers
