Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

In a test (+5) marks are given for every correct answer and (-2) marks are given for every incorrect answer

To find:-

i) Smitha answered all questions and scored (-15) marks though she got 3 correct answers. How many incorrect answer had they attempted?

Solution :-

Given that

The marks are given for correct answer = (+5)

The marks are given for wrong answer =(-2)

Smitha attempted all questions

Correct answers are given by Smitha = 3

marks for correct answered questions =

3×(+5) = (+15) marks

Let the wrong answered questions by her = N

Marks for her wrong answered questions =

= (-2)N marks

Total marks obtained her

=> Marks of Correct answered questions+ marks of Wrong answered questions

=> (+15) + (-2N) = (-15)

=> (-2N) = (-15)-(+15)

=> -2N = (-15-15)

=> -2N = -30

=>N = -30/-2

=> N = 15

Wrong answered questions = 15

Answer:-

Number of wrong answered questions done by Smitha is 15

Check:-

Marks for correct answers = 3×(+5)=(+15)

Marks for wrong answers = 15×(-2)=(-30)

Total score of her = (+15)+(-30)

=> +15-30

=> -15

Total score of Smitha = (-15) marks

Verified the given relation.
