Step-by-step explanation:

Marks for every correct answer in a test = (+5)

Marks for every incorrect answer in a test = (-2)

Marks got for Jay = (-12)

No. of correct answers Jay got = 4

Let no.of incorrect answers = x

4×(+5)+x×(-2) = -12

20+(-2×x) = 12

-2×x = -12-20

-2×x = -32

x = -32/-2

x = 16

Therefore, No. of incorrect answers attempted by Jay = 16

I HOPE IT MAY HELPS YOU!

HAVE A NICE DAY!
