Hello friend

Let the marks secured by palak be x

So according to the problem, marks secured by abha are 2x

2(2x)+3(x)=280

4x+3x=280

7x=280

x=280/7=40

Palaks marks are x=40

Abhas marks are 2x=2*40=80

manish2005: Thanks

Marks secured by Abha : 2x
Marks secured by Palak : x

2(2x) + 3(x)  = 280
     4x +  3x    = 280
         7x         = 280
                  x  = 40

Therefore, marks secured by Abha = 80.
                   marks secured by Palak = 40.

Hope it helps......................
