Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the marks secured by palak be x

So according to the problem, marks secured by abha are 2x

2(2x)+3(x)=280

4x+3x=280

7x=280

x=280/7=40

Palaks marks are x=40

Abhas marks are 2x=2*40=80

Answer:

Palak's marks = x

Abha's marks = 2x

According to the question,

2(2x) + 3(x) = 280

4x + 3x = 280

7x = 280 \\ x =  \frac{280}{7}

x = 40

So, Palak's marks is 40 (x=40)

Abha's marks is 80 (x=2×40)
