In a test, Calvin secured 40% marks and failed by 60 marks while Susie secured 60% marks

(40% of x)+60 = (60%of x)-40

on solving

(40% of x) - (60% of x) = (-40–60)

-(20%of x) = -100

20% of x = 100

chitra marks = (40% of x +60 +80)

where x =500

so on solving (500*40)/100 +140

= 340

so percentage = (340*100)/500

= 68%
