Step-by-step explanation:

marks awarded for correct =5 marks

marks awarded for incorrect = - 1 marks

total marks = 5 × 10 = 50 marks

case 1

no. of Question correct = 5

marks obtain = 5 × 5 = 25

no. of Question incorrect = 5

marks obtain = 5 × -1 = -5

total marks = 25 - 5 = 20 marks

case 2

no. of Question correct = 3

marks obtain = 5 × 3 = 15

no. of Question incorrect = 7

marks obtain = 7 × -1 = -7

total marks =15 -7 = 8 marks

conclusion

as 20 > 8

so marks of A > marks of B

difference in marks

= Marks of A - marks of B

= 20 - 8

= 12 marks

so the difference between there marks are 12
