Answer:

He got wrong 22 questions

Step-by-step explanation:

Let he got wrong x questions

Then he got correct (80-x) questions

By the given condition

(80-x)×1 - x ×1/2 = 47

(80-x) - x/2=47

160-3x /2 = 47

160 - 3x = 94

3x = 66

x = 22

So he got wrong 22 questions

Answer

  • 22 wrong answers

Given

  • In a test of 80 questions one mark is awarded for correct and 1/2 mark is deducted for wrong a student answers all gets 47 marks

To Find

  • Wrong answers

Solution

Let the number of wrong answers be " x "

So , Number of correct answer = " 80 - x " [ Since he answered all questions ]

Correct answers = CA

Wrong answers = WA

Since he get the total of 47 marks .

⇒ ( No. of CA ) ( Marks for CA ) + ( No. of WA ) ( - Marks for WA ) = 47

⇒ ( 80 - x ) 1 + ( x ) ( - 1/2 ) = 47

⇒ 80 - x - x/2 = 47

⇒ 3x / 2 = 33

⇒ 3x = 66

x = 22

So , No. os wrong answers = x = 22
