Solutions :-

Given :
Ramu got 28% and failed by 150 marks.
Radha got 39 % and exceeded the passing marks by 180 marks.

Let the maximum marks be x

According to the question,

28% of x + 150 = 39% of x - 180
=> 0.28x + 150 = 0.39x - 180
=> 0.28x - 0.39x = - 180 - 150
=> - 0.11x = - 330
=> x = - 330/- 0.11 = 3000

Find the passing percentage :-

Pass marks = 28% of 3000 + 150
= 840 + 150
= 990

Pass percentage = (pass marks × 100)/maximum marks %
= (990 × 100)/ 3000 %
= 99000/3000%
= 33%

Hence,
Passing percentage = 33%

Solutions :-

Let the total marks be x
And pass marks be y

According to the question,

28% of x + 150 = y
=> 0.28x + 150 = y ______(1)
39% of x - 180 = y
=> 0.39x - 180 = y _____(2)

Subtract the equation (2) from (1),

(0.28x + 150) - (0.39x - 180) = y - y
=> 0.28x + 150 - 0.39x + 180 = 0
=> - 0.11x = - 330
=> x = - 330/ - 0.11 = 3000

Now,
Putting the value of x in the equation (1)

0.28 × 3000 + 150 = y
=> 840 + 150 = y = 990

Passing percentage = (990 × 100)/3000 %
= 99000/3000 %
= 33 %

Answer : Passing percentage = 33%
