In a theatre, there are 2700 seats. Out of these, 35% of the seats are in the balcony, 30% of the seats
in the rear stall and the rest in the front stall. If the tickets cost 60, 40 and 30 for balcony,
rear stall and front stall, respectively, find the total collection for a show when it is houseful?

Total number of seats = 2700

Number of seats in the balcony = \frac{35}{100} * 2700 = 945

So, the cost of balcony seats = Rs. 60 × 945

                                                = Rs. 56700

Number of seats in the rear stall = \frac{30}{100} × 2700 = 810

So, cost of rear seats = Rs. 40 × 810

                                    = Rs. 32400

Now, seats in the front stall = 2700 - (945+810)

                                              = 945

So, the cost of front seats = Rs. 30 × 945

                                           = Rs. 28350

∴ total cost of all the seats, when housefull = Rs. (56700+32400+28350)

                                                                        = Rs. 117450 (ANS)

Answer:

So according to the question,

Total seats= 2700

Total seats in balcony= 2700*35/100

= 27*35 = [945 seats]

Total seats in the rear stall= 2700*30/100

= [810seats]

So, seats in the front stall= 2700-(945+810)

= 945 seats

Cost for seats in balcony= ₹(945*60) = ₹56700

Cost for seats in rear stall= ₹(810*40) = ₹32400

Cost for seats in front stall = ₹(945*30) = ₹56700

So, total cost=₹ {28,350+(56700)+32400}

= ₹117450
