So , No. of Boys + No. of Girls = 180 .

$:\longmapsto2\text x = 180 - 10$

$:\longmapsto2\text x = 170$

$:\longmapsto\text x = \cancel \dfrac{170}{2}$

Hence,

⇝ Number of Boys = x = 85.

★ In the 1st case ,

Total number of boys and girls is 180

→ x + y = 180 ———(1)

★ In the 2nd case ,

→ y - x = 10
