Given,

There is provision for 1600 athletes for 60 days.

To find,

The number of days the provisions will last if only 1200 athletes participated.

Solution,

This mathematical problem can be solved by normal arithmetic method.

There are,

Provision of 1600 athelete for = 60 days

Provision of 1 athelete for = 60×1600 days

Provision of 1200 athelete for = 60×1600/1200 = 80 days

(Both terms are directly proportional to other.)

Hence, the provision will last for 80 days.
