Population= 2 lakh

Population of village:

= 200000

_______________________________

Number of male

$= 40\%$

$40\% \: of \: 200000$

$= \frac{40} {100} \times 200000$

$40 \times 2000$

$= 80000$

Number of female

$= 30\%$

$30\% \: of \: 200000$

$\frac{30}{100} \times 200000$

$= 30 \times 2000 \\ = 60000$

$total \: number \: of \: male \:and \: female \: \\ = 80000 + 60000 \\ = 140000$

$number \: of \: children \: \\ = total \: population \: - (number \: of \: male \: + number \: of \: female)$

$no. \: of \: children \: \\ = 200000 - 140000$
