In a town of 10,000 families it was found that 40% families buy newspaper A, 20% families buy newspaper B and 10% families buy newspaper c. 5% families buy A and B, 3% buy B and c and 4% buy A and C. Answer:

Families buying only newspaper A= 10000 x 40/100  

                                                         = 4000

Families buying only newspaper B= 10000 x 20/100

                                                         = 2000

Families buying only newspaper C= 10000 x 10/100

                                                           = 1000

 Total no. of families buying newspaper = 4000+2000+1000                                                            

                                                                   = 7000

Families who are not buying any newspaper = 10000-7000

                                                                           =3000

(1) Families buying only newspaper A= 4000

(2) Families buying only newspaper = 2000

(3) Families who are not buying any newspaper = 3000
