Step-by-step explanation:

35% male, 30% female, then children = 100-(35+30) = 100-65 = 35%

now, 7000 children.

let total population be x

35/100 * x = 7000

x = 7000*100/35 = 20000

male = 35/100*20000 = 7000

female = 30% of 20000 = 6000

since children = male = 7000 , hence number of children = number of males in town.
