in a toy factory. 200 wooden closed cylinders
of diameter 35 mm and height 7 cm have to be
painted. What is the total surface area, in cm square
that needs to be painted? (Take to be 3.142.)

diameter of base of cylindrical toy = 35mm =3.5cm

radius(r) = diameter/2

r = 3.5/2

r = 1.75 cm

height (h) = 7 cm

therefore, we know that,

total surface area of cylindrical toy = 2×3.142×r (r+h)

= 2×3.142×1.75(1.75+7)

=2×3.142×1.75×8.75

=96.22375 cm square

therefore,

96.22 sq cm is total surface area of toys.

Answer:

This Question is in my book. And answer is too simple.

Step-by-step explanation:

Data:

d= 35mm

r= 17.5mm = 1.75/10

r= 1.75/100 = 7/4cm

r= 7/4cm

h= 7cm

T.SA = ?

Solution:

TSA = 2πr (r+h)

TSA= 2x22/7x7/4 (7/4+7/4)

TSA = 44/4 x (7+28/4)

TSA = 44/4 x 35/4

TSA= 11 x 35/4

TSA= 385/4 cm²

Now,

TSA of 200 cylinders = 200 x 385/4

TSA of 200 cylinders = 50 x 385

TSA of 200 cylinders = 19250 cm²

Result:

TSA of 200 cylinders is 19250 cm²
