In a Trapezium if the sum of the parallel sides is 16cm and the area is 48 cm², then its height

is :

(B) 6cm

Solution :-

Let height of trapezium be h cm

Sum of parallel sides = 16 cm

Area of trapezium = 48 cm²

Area of trapezium = 1/2 x sum of parallel sides x height

=> 48 = 1/2 x 16 x h

=> 48 = 8 x h

=> 48/8 = h

=> 6 = h

Height of trapezium = 6 cm

Answer :-

  • Height of trapezium = 6 cm [ option d ]

Given :-

  • In a trapezium the sum of the parallel sides is 16cm and the area is 48 cm².

To Find :-

  • Height of the trapezium.

Step By Step Explanation :-

We know that in a trapezium the sum of the parallel sides is 16cm and the area is 48 cm².

We need to find the height of the trapezium.

Let us consider the height of trapezium be x.

As we know ⤵

{\boxed{\underline{\tt{\purple{Trapezium_{(Area)}=\cfrac{1}{2}\:sum\:of\:parallel \:sides\times\:Height}}}}}

By substituting the values

 \implies\sf \cfrac{1}{2}  \times 16 \times x = 48 \\  \\  \implies\sf \cfrac{16x}{2}  = 48 \\  \\ \tt \: By\:Transposing  \downarrow \\  \\  \implies\sf x =  \cancel\cfrac{48 \times 2}{16}  \\  \\ \implies\bf x = 6

Therefore the height of trapezium = 6 cm.
