In a triangle ABC, AB = 15cm, BC = 13cm and AC = 14cm
Find the area of triangle ABC and hence its altitude on AC

where s = a + b + c/2

=15 + 13 + 14/2

=42/2

=21

substituting the values,

\sqrt{21(21-15)(21-13)(21-14)}

=\sqrt{21(6)(8)(7)}

=\sqrt{7056\\}

= 84 cm.sq

To find altitude,

ar(triangle ABC)=1/2 x base x altitude

= 84 = 1/2 x 14 x altitude

= 84 = 7 x altitude

= altitude =84/7

= altitude = 12 cm
