Step-by-step explanation:

AB=3.6CM

AC=5.2CM

am =  \frac{1}{2} ab =  \frac{3.6}{2}

AM= 1.8 CM

IF MN PARALLEL BC

THEN BY BPT,

AM/AB = AN/AC

THE PARALLEL LINE WILL ALSO INTERSECT AT MIDPOINT OF AC

SO,

1.8/3.6 = x/5.2

1.8 × 5.2 = x × 3.6

x = 1.8 × 5.2 /3.6

AN= 2.6
