In a triangle ABC , D is a point on BC such that it divides BC in the ratio 3:5 . Find area of (ADC):ar(ABC).

here abc is a triangle where e is a point and ae:ec is 3:5 and AD is perpendicular on bc.

therefore, area of triangle ABE is- 1/2*b*h
= 1/2*3*h
also area of triangle AEC -
=1/2*5*h
therefore  ratio =  \frac{1/2 * 3*h}{1/2*5*h} = 3:5
