Solution :-

Let CE is equal to x cm .

In ∆ADE and ∆ABC we have,

→ ∠ADE = ∠ABC { given }

→ ∠DAE = ∠BAC { common }

So,

→ ∆ADE ~ ∆ABC { By AA similarity }

then,

→ AD/AB = AE/AC { when two ∆'s are similar, corresponding sides are in same ratio . }

→ 2/(2 + 3) = 3/(3 + x)

→ 2/5 = 3/(3 + x)

→ 2(3 + x) = 3 * 5

→ 6 + 2x = 15

→ 2x = 15 - 6

→ 2x = 9

→ x = 4.5 cm (Ans.)

Hence, length of CE is equal to 4.5 cm .
