In a triangle ABC, DE // BC. If AD = DB =3.5 and AC = 4.8 .find AE?

dhruv8657: use the midpoint theorem according to which if a line as u said DE is parallel to BC and bisects one side then according to the theorem it bisects opposite side also hence AE=EC thus 2.4=AE=EC
Lifehacker21: distance between A and B is 3.5 and the distance between B and D is 3.5 total distance from A to D is 3.5+3.5=7.0 In the same way we can add the distance from A to C and C to E to get total distance A to E given distance AC =4.8 and as DE is parallel to BC the distance between BD and CE will be same. as BD=3.5 so CE=3.5. Now add AC & CE to get AE 4.8+3.5=8.3. so AE=8.3

4.8 as it may be equal dod

dhruv8657: this cannot be bro
dhruv8657: without theorems u cannnot solve iy
dhruv8657: it
Lifehacker21: all cannot be solved by theorems bro
Lifehacker21: some prblms can be solved by us also...

2.4 IS THE ANSWER BECAUSE WE DIVIDED THE 4.8 WITH 2 BECAUSE I HAVE FOLLOWED THE SAME RULE AS THE AD=DB

Lifehacker21: I think the answer is 8.3
dhruv8657: No life hacker 21 answer is not 8.3 use the midpoint theorem
dhruv8657: answer is 2.4
Lifehacker21: distance between A and C is 4.8. in this case E is far away from A compared to C. AC=4.8 and AE=AC+CE. the answer should be greater than 4.8. how can u say it's 2.4
dhruv8657: man u don't know the midpoint theorem its true bro
