Question :-

In a right angle triangle ∆ ABC , if AB is 3 cm and AC is 4 cm then find side BC .

Answer :-

→ Side BC = 5 cm

To Find :-

→ Side BC

Formula used :-

Here we will use Pythagoras theorem

 \green{ \boxed{ \red{ \star}}} \sf{ \:  {(hypt.)}^{2}  =  {(perpend.)}^{2}  +  {(base)}^{2} }

Solution :-

According to the question,

→ AB = 3 cm ( base)

→ AC = 4 cm ( perpendicular)

→ BC = ? ( hypotenuse)

Now substitute these values in the given formula

  \blue{ \boxed{ \red{\rightarrow}}} \: \:  \sf{ {(BC)}^{2}  =  {(AC)}^{2}  +  {(AB)}^{2} } \\  \\   \boxed{ \green{\rightarrow}}\: \:  \sf{  {(BC)}^{2}  =  {4}^{2}  +  {3}^{2} } \\  \\    \green{\boxed{ \pink{\rightarrow}}} \:   \:  \sf{ BC =  \sqrt{16 + 9} } \\  \\   \red{\boxed{ \orange{ \rightarrow}}} \:  \sf{ \: BC =  \sqrt{5} } \\  \\ \boxed{ \blue{ \rightarrow }}\:  \:  \:  \sf{ BC \:  =  5  \: cm}
