I suppose D is on AB and E is on AC.
ABC and ADE are similar triangles. as the corresponding sides are parallel.
AD: DB = 2/4 =1/2
=> AD = AB /3 and DB = 2 AB/3
AD / AB = DE / BC
= 1/3
