Solution:-

The area of triangle ABC will be 64 cm²

We know that the area of a triangle is proportional to square of its sides,

since P is the midpoint of AB,

=> AP/AB = 1/2

Also ΔPQR is similar to ΔABC

=> PQ/AB = 1/2

Also,

Area of ΔPQR/Area of ΔABC = PQ²/AB²

=> 16/Area of ΔABC = 1/4

=> Area of ΔABC = 16 x 4 = 64 cm²

Hence the area of triangle ABC will be 64 cm²
