in a triangle abc ;right angled at b ,bc =7 cm and ac - ab = 1 cm find the value of sinA+cosA.

Given AC-AB=1cm and BC=7cm

=> AC=1+AB.......(1)

In triangle ABC, using Pythagoras theorem-

(AC)² =(BC)² +(AB)²

(1+AB)²=(BC)²+(AB)² (using(1))

1+2AB+(AB)²=(BC)²+(AB)²

1+2AB =(7)²(given, BC=7cm)

2AB=49-1

AB=48/2

AB=24cm

=> AC=1+AB= 1+24=25cm.

sinA=P/H=BC/AC=7/25

sinB=P/H=AB/AC=24/25

Hence, sinA+sinB= 7/25+24/25=31/25
