In a triangle if the length of the altitude is doubled the length of its base and the area is 400 CM square find the length of the base and the altitude

Answer:

Let altitude =Xcm

Therefore, base= (X+4)cm

Given, area= 48sq.cm

1/2*b*h = 48

1/2*(X+4)*X = 48

Xsq+4X = 24

Xsq +4X-24=0

Now this is quadratic equation
