In a triangle, the longest side is twice the shortest side and the third side is 3cm less than the longest side. If the perimeter of the triangle is 57cm, find all the sides of the triangle​

                       longest side = 2x( twice the shortest side)....(2)

                       third side = 2x - 3( 3cm less than the longest side)....(3)

Perimeter of the triangle =  sum of three sides of the triangle

57 = 2x + x + 2x - 3

57 = 5x - 3

57 + 3 = 5x

⇒5x = 60

    x  = 60/5

    x = 12....(4)

substitute equation (4) in (1), (2), and (3)

longest side = 2x = 2(12) = 24,

shortest side = x = 12

third side = 2x - 3 = 2(12) - 3 = 24 - 3 = 21
