In a triangle the measure of the greatest angle is square of the measure of the smallest angle and the other angle is double of the smallest angle find the greatest angle of the triangle.

{\underline{\underline{\huge{\mathtt{Solution:-}}}}}

Let the three angles of the triangle be x, y and z.

★ The measure of the greatest angle is square of the measure of the smallest angle.

let x be the smallest angle and y be the greatest angle

According to the question,

y = x²..................(i)

★The other angle is double of the smallest angle.

let the other angle be z.

According to the question,

z = 2x..................(ii)

★ We know that the sum of three angles of a triangle is 180°.

So,

x + y +z = 180

[ Putting all values]

→ x + x² + 2x = 180

→ 3x + x² = 180

→x² +(15-12)x -180 = 0

→ (x+15)(x-12) = 0

x - 12 = 0

→ x = 12

Putting x= 12 in (i) no. equation

Y = 12²

= 144

Hence, the greatest angle of the triangle is 144 °.
